Florida Democratic Party Statement on Attorney General Race

Florida Democratic Party Spokesman Eric Jotkoff released the following statement regarding the Attorney General race:

“As Attorney General, Bill McCollum has done nothing more than promote himself and the status quo, overlook Republican corruption festering across Florida, and stand with the special interests by doing their bidding.

“In 2010, Florida is going to elect a strong Democrat to bring change as our Attorney General, because Florida can’t afford more of the same.

“The Sunshine State needs a strong Democrat as Florida’s chief legal officer to bust up business as usual, fight for everyday Floridians, protect consumers, and ensure our communities are safe for Florida’s families.

“In 2010, every statewide office in Florida will be wide open with no incumbents running for re-election, for the first time in 134 years. Democrats are working to seize our historic opportunity to bring change to Florida by electing our next Governor, Alex Sink, electing a strong Democrat to the U.S. Senate, and electing more Democrats to the Cabinet, Congress, and Florida's Legislature.”
